John leads an effort to grow D.A. Davidson's collaborative presence in Wealth Management and Investment Banking in the Midwest and beyond, the results of which have produced a number of successful M&A engagements and capital financings. Prior to joining D.A. Davidson, John was President and CEO of SMITH HAYES, and was responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of the firm. In 2016, John organized and managed the merger of SMITH HAYES with D.A. Davidson (both ESOP firms), a transaction which resulted in a successful combination of strengths and an expanded level of services for the firm's clients. He currently serves on D.A. Davidson's Leadership Council. John graduated from the University of Nebraska with a bachelor's degree in business administration with an emphasis in economics, and completed an MBA with high distinction. He serves on the boards of directors of Hampton Enterprises, Inc. and Bryan Health.

Rebecca is responsible for providing customized lending advice for clients and collaborating with financial professionals on how to utilize lending solutions. She has 10+ years of advising companies and individuals on solutions to solve liquidity needs to fund business operations, lifestyle needs, tax obligations or large asset purchases. Rebecca previously worked for various fintech startups and J.P. Morgan Private Bank. She holds a BS in Business Administration and International Relations from Carroll University and an MBA in International Business and Marketing from Brandeis International Business School.

Steve oversees D.A. Davidson Trust Company, where he has broad oversight responsibility for ensuring the trust company provides comprehensive planning for its clients and also for management of the firm’s team of professionals. Steve joined the firm in April 2015 after previously serving as President of The Corundum Group in Colorado Springs. Additionally, he was a founder and board member of Central Bancorp, Inc., a diversified holding company operating not only Corundum but also a commercial bank, mortgage company and an affiliated insurance company. Steve holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.

Scott is head of the department’s investment management research efforts covering mutual funds and exchange traded funds, and serves as lead portfolio manager for the firm’s proprietary Managed Funds Portfolios program. In addition, he provides due diligence, monitoring and recommendations for the Separately Managed Account and Unified Managed Account programs. Scott has been instrumental in the design and implementation of the department’s discretionary asset allocation programs. Previously, he worked as an insurance products analyst at Prudential Securities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Montana State University.

Matt aspires to help advisors understand, expand and refine the role insurance and annuities play in their clients’ portfolios. He is fluent in the products and technology supporting insurance and annuities, including annuity order entry systems, insurance products, estate planning, and fixed, variable and fee-based annuities. Before joining the firm, he worked for Independent Financial Group, where he built and managed annuity product offerings and sales strategy, and he has worked in other various consulting and sales roles across the industry. Matt’s extensive experience plays a vital role in helping financial professionals provide consultation on client cases.
